Financial Services Specialist
LaVonne joined CHAD in October 2005 in the newly created position of financial services specialist. Her duties include coordinating finance and front desk user groups as well as providing technical assistance and support.
She also coordinates orientation and training activities in the areas of health center financial management, operations, reimbursement systems, compliance, accounting, grants management and internal/external reporting.
Before joining CHAD, LaVonne worked in the healthcare finance area for many years. She was the controller for University Physicians - USD School of Medicine’s faculty practice plan for 13 years and the finance officer for Sioux Falls Veterans Administration Medical Center and Regional Office for two years. In addition, she has worked as a healthcare reimbursement analyst, taught business classes at Colorado Technical University, and managed the Central Business Office at Sioux Valley Clinic.
She holds a masters in accounting from the University of South Dakota and is a Certified Public Accountant. LaVonne is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the South Dakota CPA Society, and the South Dakota Medical Group Management Association.
LaVonne lives in Sioux Falls with her husband and two sons.
